Editions for Epoch Gallery LA fires fundraiser, using a combination of Blender and procedural dither.

Three music promos and accompanying gifs for Samantha Whates and Ida Wenøe’s album Loopy & Esther, extending our hidything loops into more narrative forms. The videos featured on promo news and can be seen in full below, along with this essay about the animation process on substack.

Cover artwork and weaving loops for Nick + Samantha’s Seabird / Her, released on Chris Coco’s Disappear label.

Artwork in the Ruins
As my attention turns to how creative skills can be used for a better purpose, my work takes on an ever greener hue.

Working without keyframes, I often animate these straight ahead; the fast looping dynamism seems to convey the urgency in which we find ourselves, while an animated boil is probably the best metaphor we have.

Hidything

Hidything is the audiovisual duo of myself and Samantha Whates. A creative collaboration began during lockdown, together we create idents for The Chill Out Tent, music videos, live visuals, and collectable editions.

The Infernal Method
A homage to the late Norman Ackroyd, an artist who first inspired me in his persistent focus on bird flecked archipelagos. I’ve been exploring something like his etching process using only digital tools.

Yowie and the Magpie
A hunter's obsession seals his fate in a darkly comic animated tale of man versus monster.

Commissioned by FilmLondon, premiered at London Film Festival, McLaren nominated at Edinburgh International Film Festival, Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week.

  • Pocket Megaliths

Painted with my fingers and compressed using dither and gifs; an unexpected, not wholly controllable mix of neolithic subject matter, human hand on touchscreen, and already archaic technology.

  • Raindance

Inspired by the Raindance flyer, in loving homage to Keith Haring for Pride 2025. His wit, his handstyle, his restless vibes and his absence. For every 80s kid who grew up drawing and listening to dance music, his spirit is with us every day .
